Multiple Traffic Light (MTL) could alert excess of saturated fat, sugar or sodium in food products. The aim of this research was to study the saturated fat, sugar and sodium contents informed in the principal biscuit labels commercialized in Brazil, as well to understand some biscuit consumer habits of Brazilian people, and finally, to propose new labels according to the MTL model for biscuits with excess of saturated fat, sugar or sodium. The saturated fat, sugar and sodium contents of the principal biscuits commercialized in Brazil was studied. Also, a cross-sectional study with 100 interviewees aged between 18 and 60 years old was conducted. One hundred percent of biscuit labels studied have high or medium contents of saturated fat, sugar or sodium. A high frequency of biscuit consumption by interviewees without and with non-communicable diseases was observed. Also, it was observed that Brazilian interviewees are not understanding the information contained in biscuit labels. It is possible to suggest the necessity of more studies, as well as the implementation of MTL model in biscuit labels commercialized in Brazil.
